Frequently Asked Questions

ArtCall FAQs

Why are you changing the Louisa Arts Center entry process?

The Gallery Committee is comprised of all volunteers. This past year, we received a record number of entries requiring extra hours from our volunteers to assemble open shows. This new system will reduce the amount of hours required of our volunteers. Having the artists enter their own information will also reduce the risk of spelling errors and incorrect contact information.

Why is there a fee now?

The new system charges us based on the quantity of entries so we are charging only $5 per entry to cover the costs.

How did you determine the fees?

The new system charges us based on the quantity of entries so we are charging only $5 per entry to cover our costs. You can spend as little as $5 to enter or up to $15. Please note that the Louisa Arts Center does not require a registration fee and most other area galleries’ fees start at $25 for the first entry with $5 for additional entries. We do waive fees for students under 18.

I need to pay my entry fee by check (or cash). How do I do that?

You can select the coupon for “PaybyCheck” and bring that check with you to the art drop off.

I’m having trouble using the new software. Can someone help me?

Please review the tutorial videos online at artcall.org to see if they can answer your questions. If not, we will have volunteers ready to assist on the art drop off day. Please note that we only have a limited amount of volunteers and lines could get long.

How do I enter if I don’t have access to a computer?

The artcall.org software is easy to use via your phone. We will also have volunteers ready to answer questions on the art drop off day. Please note that we only have a limited amount of volunteers and lines could get long.

Can someone help me photograph my work?

We will have volunteers ready to assist you on the art drop off day. Be sure to bring your phone with its camera feature. Please note that we only have a limited amount of volunteers and lines could get long. If you don’t want to wait till drop off day for assistance, there are several YouTube videos that offer guidance. Just type “How to Photograph Your Artwork at Home with Phone.” This site was helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

My photos of my work don’t match the art. How do I fix them?

We will have volunteers ready to assist you on the art drop off day. Be sure to bring your phone with the art photos on it so we can demonstrate how to make adjustments.

What happens if I notice a mistake on my entry after the deadline. How do I fix it?

Please email gallery@louisaarts.org with “ArtCall Correction” in the subject line, to alert us to the change by the Wednesday before the opening reception and we can correct it for you before the program is printed.
